This year we are so thrilled and proud to be sponsoring one of the Ionian islands’ most popular and treasured running events, the legendary Corfu Old Town Trail!

Taking place on September 24th in the capital of Corfu, the race has been organized since 2014 with great success and the participation of 200 athletes from Greece and abroad each year. The race comprises two different routes so that runners can select the one that best matches their fitness status and mood: a 14km and a 6km race. The long race starts from Liston Square and, after passing through several landmarks of the Old Town, it enters the Old Fortress traversing the small alleys of this UNESCO World Heritage monument offering runners not only a fitness experience but also lots of motivation as they bear witness to all its glorious sites. The shorter race also enjoys the hotspots of the longer route, but it takes a shortcut and enters the Old Fortress much earlier.

Apart from the stunning venue of the race, there will also be 20 spots throughout the route where participants will come across traditional performances, music and cultural events so they dive deeper into the unsurpassed heritage of Corfu, the jewel of the Ionian! Because this is a place of immense natural beauty, rich tradition and deep-rooted culture, and not just one of Greece’s most preferred holiday destinations for millions of travellers for many decades now.

The race is organized by the Corfu Mountain Trail team along with the Municipality of Central Corfu and, this year, we are honoured to be a mega sponsor of the event offering supplies to the athletes as well as the special gifts of the event, such as buffs and bags. The Corfu Mountain Trail is an established organization, a member of the International Trail Running Association, organizing each year several thematic running events in the entire Corfu to introduce fitness and nature lovers to the pristine natural beauty and the hidden treasures of the island as well as its culture and traditions. Acknowledged running and trekking athletes from all around the world honour the races of Corfu Mountain Trail each year giving additional motivation to interested participants.
