Following the official guidelines of the Ministry of Health, the National Organization for Public Health and the Ministry of Tourism all the seasonal tourist accommodations who will reopen and host travellers this season must follow a Health Protocol that emphasizes on the health and safety of the accommodation staff and their guests.
The specifications for the reopening of tourist accommodation concern all accommodations regardless of technical and operational specifications, classification, type, duration of operation, except for organized tourist camps. Each tourist accommodation should draw up a Protocol in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Tourism.

A lot of you will host travellers this summer and it is vital to work together to offer our services and strongly implementing a number of measures to enable our guests to feel comfortable and safe within the premises of their vacation home this summer.
We strongly emphasize the importance of ensuring that our staff uset the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks, disposable gloves, and, in some cases, splash goggles for any meeting our guests or of any entry into a property.
We in constant communication with the Property Owners, the National Organization for Public Health and the Ministry of Tourism in order to work closer and make our guest, staff and partners feel safe and keep up with the latest Health & Safety protocols .
Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, we are enforcing that existing cleaning programs be augmented to include even more rigorous sanitization and disinfection protocols. Our focus in implementing a Health Protocol is:
– COVID-19 Disinfection and Sanitization procedures of the Vacation Property
Cleaning a vacation rental is no small task, even when we are not faced with a global pandemic. A housekeeper is expected to take a property that is in disarray from departing guests and completely reset it—eradicating the microbes that have been left behind in the property and creating a like-new experience for arriving guests. Vacation rental professionals understand that cleaning a property effectively requires specific training, appropriate supplies, and a systematic process.
– The importance Staff Training & Proper PPE Usage
An affidavit from all staff members which states that the individual has been informed of the health and management protocols for COVID-19, relating to their competence. All staff (housekeepers, inspectors, maintenance technicians, or anyone else) should wear masks and disposable gloves. It is imperative that all staff are trained in correct mask and glove usage.
– The usage of appropriate Products, Cleaning Agents, and Equipment
It is strongly recommending that all Property Owners check their existing cleaning products and work with your preferred janitorial product supplier(s) to obtain additional products that are known to be effective against COVID-19 virus.
– Action plan for suspected cases
All properties are advised to create an action plan to act in case of suspected COVID-19 infection plan, following the plan for dealing with a suspected case from – National Organization for Public Health.
The Ministry of Tourism has a plan of audits and we encourage all enterprises to seek third party accreditation. They have also set up a training and information website for employees and owners in order to ensure that the knowledge of the protocols is disseminated in a timely and responsible manner. Finally, they have established steep fines for those neglecting their duties. In case of complaints, visitors can call the four-digit number 1572 of the Ministry Tourism.
COVID -19 Infection Incident
In the event of a confirmed infection, close contacts of the case will be transferred to a separate quarantine accommodation at the expense of the Greek state. Remaining guests will continue their holidays. The Greek state will cover expenses related to hospitalization of visitors suffering from Covid-19 symptoms.
