The tour of Syros starts with its gorgeous capital, Ermoupoli, with the distinctive architecture that sets it apart from the rest of Cycladic isles. Wander around its cobbled streets to see the stunning Platia Miaouli, Ziller’s town hall and the theatre of Apollon, before you head to Vaporia, the elegant shipowners’ district.
Pay a visit to the exquisite Industrial Museum to see exhibits and archives from the island’s rich history, and then the churches of Anastasi and Agios Nikolaos “of the rich” -a name given to the church to set it apart from Agios Nikolaos “of the poor”, in Ano Syra.
After you finish your tour of the centre, visit the island’s other settlements, Piskopio, Kini and Posidonia, and then head to one of the island’s beautiful beaches.

Achladi A charming sandy cove with crystal clear waters, natural shade and a couple of tavernas and cafes where you can find food and drinks.
Agathopes A popular resort that boasts a beach with fine golden sand, clear shallow waters and sunbeds. Fully organised.
Asteria The cosmopolitan beach of Vaporia district. It is actually a dock under the mansions, from where you can dive into the transparently clear waters.
Azolimnos Sandy shore, glass-clear waters and natural shade. It is a very popular beach close to Ermoupolis, with cafes and tavernas nearby.
Fabrika A beautiful bay on the south coast of the island that remains quiet even during peak season, with fine golden sand and sparkling clear waters.
Finikas One of the island’s most popular beaches. A long sandy bay with deep blue waters, protected by the winds. Well-organised.
Galissas An organised beach with fine golden sand, bright blue waters and watersports. There is also natural shade and tavernas.
Kini A sandy, organised beach close to Kini village. From here, you can catch a boat to the north coast beaches, which are accessible only by sea.
Komito A beautiful sandy bay with glittering blue waters close to the village of Posidonia. There is a beach bar and a few umbrellas for shade.
Megas Gialos One of Syros’ largest beaches, close to Ermoupolis. A sandy bay with dazzling, clear waters, natural shade and facilities.
Vari One of the most popular of the island, with fine sand and dazzling blue waters, well protected from the winds.
